For more than 40 years, Peter Best has provided a range of quality legal services in selective practice areas to clients in the Sudbury and Manitoulin area. In 2014, his daughter Amy P. Best joined the office as an associate lawyer. The main areas of practice are business law, real estate law, wills, powers of attorney and estates. Amy P. Best

Amy was born and raised in Sudbury. She obtained her B.Sc (Honours) in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo, where she graduated on the Dean’s List. Amy attended law school in Fredericton, New Brunswick, where she graduated on the Dean’s List from the University of New Brunswick in 2011. Amy articled and worked for a large full-service firm in London, Ontario from 2011-2013, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2012. In January 2014, Amy joined her father Peter’s practice. In 2016, Amy and Peter began practicing through Amy’s firm, Amy P. Best Professional Corporation (Best Law Offices).

D. Peter Best - Retired

Peter was born in 1948 and raised in Espanola, Ontario. He attended Espanola High School and University of Toronto Schools, graduating in 1967. After high school he earned his B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1970 and graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1973. Peter articled with Fraser & Beatty – Toronto from 1973 -1974 and was called to the Bar March 21st, 1975. From 1975-1977, Peter worked at Hinds, Trainor & Sinclair, Sudbury. He later practiced as a sole practitioner and partner in Best & Desotti from 1977-1997. Peter joined Desmarais, Keenan as a partner from 1997 – 2000. From 2000-2015, Peter again practiced as a sole practitioner in a shared space agreement with other law firms, before practicing through Amy’s firm, Amy P. Best Professional Corporation (Best Law Offices), as of 2016. Peter retired from the practice of law in October 2023.
